I’m called many things, one of which is Scriptwriter.

I signed up for an English degree when I turned thirty. it was the best decision of my life, albeit a crazy one. But then I firmly believe you need a bit of madness to write; no sane person would do it.

Like most writers, I started off dabbling with prose, was forced into short stories, jumped through poetry and landed with scripts, where I first learnt the eternal truth of show, don’t tell. I have since discovered that despite my love of film, my writer’s heart lies with the small screen.

I’ve written scripts for theatre and television, and plan to push my six-part television series, Change, into the hands of those with influence in the near future. It explores the topic of mental illness caused by the menopause, and how there is a severe lack of support for this, especially in the workplace. Like all my stories, it is a strong, female-led drama that doesn’t let up when it comes to suspense.

My current screenplay, The Right Time, follows Rosie as she embarks on an internship to get her first ‘proper’ job. She is a married 31 year old mother of one, searching for the Rosie who once had hopes and dreams. This ten part television series will show both the internal and external battles Rosie faces in her quest to find herself.

Did I Ever?

A chance meet between two old friends leads to one story of heartbreak causing another.

When Georgina bumps into Amelie in a local pub, she recounts the story of her break-up with her ex, Rob. But Georgina reveals more than she realises, causing Amelie to re-evaluate her current relationship too.

Did I Ever? is short play exploring the pressure men and women feel to commit in relationships and conform to society’s expectations. It questions whether true love can make it when two people want different things, and how we can keep making the same mistakes each time, not learning from the past.

This play has two lead actresses, a director and Zoom. What could go wrong?
